Shared red songthaews run from Chang Phuak Gate and the zoo end of Huay Kaew Road for roughly 40 to 50 baht a person each way, more when the truck is not full. Agree the fare before you get in, and agree the return trip at the same time — that is the leg people forget.

Most are not, and each tour says so plainly. One private day tour runs a wheelchair-accessible vehicle, and the funicular is what makes the terrace itself reachable once you are up there. If mobility matters, a private car sets its own pace and stops where you need it to.
